De, you sound like a positively wonderful human being, and I wish you all the best whoever and wherever you are.
And since I couldn't post a comment (Error 500 - bugger indeed) on a certain September blog page, I'll post a thought here - consider it a post-Christmas gift...;)
It's very short, just one word, really: ADDITIVES. Not "addictives", if you now what I mean...
The pronounciation (not to mention the meaning) is totally different.

Maybe THAT's why his eyes glazed over...? Not because of unwelcome intelligence, but because of a semblance of ignorance? (I know mine would!)

But everyone makes mistakes from time to time.
I certainly wish you all the best. And not just in 2007.
