As embarrassing as this is for me, I've got to talk about the Kelly Ripa/Clay Aiken/Rosie O'Donnell debacle.
What a load of shit!
I've tried to "like" Rosie. I respect different lifestyles and different points of view on many topics but I'm tired of people pulling the "gay woman" card.
It never occurred to me that Kelly's comment would be considered a slam against all gay people.
But Rosie, with a giant lesbian chip on her shoulder, had to make it a homo-issue. I guarantee you that Clay Aiken didn't want that!
He has never come out of the closet. He's never once said whether or not he likes the ween.
But big mouth Rosie just made an even bigger issue of it.
Rosie O'Donnell spends her life on the defensive and I can't say I wouldn't be the same way if I had all the societal strikes against me that she does AND in the public eye constantly but it's obvious to me that she's spoiling for a fight.
With so many other "hot topic" issues in the world, I can't believe she chose Kelly Ripa's innocent remark to tear apart.
I wonder how long til Barbara Walters gives Rosie the ole Star Jones-Reynolds treatment?
I've never heard of this until now and I was HOME the other morning for once and watched the Regis & Kelly Show with Clay - that comment was in NO WAY homophobic and to try and twist it that way is utterly ridiculous. I have lost a lot of respect for Rosie trying to pull the homo card. The Al Sharpton of the homosexuals? gag.
Posted by: Lisa W. at November 22, 2006 03:16 PMYou know, I just can't seem to get tired of the lesbian card. Try as I might, I think this will be the case forever.
But the real evidence that God hates me is the women who play it. I've been tormented daily for a decade by these daytime dykes declaring their victimhood and generally being Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres - neither of whom I wished to see much of when they were closeted.
I often think of how wonderful the world would be if only Kelly Ripa were a militant bi-sexual - bending a nude, say, Angelina Jolie over the chair and ruthlessly spanking her whilst screaming "Who's you Daddy, bitch" and alternately looking at the camera and cooing my name softly.
But this is anything but a wonderful world. It is a cruel, loathsome place, populated by people like Rosie, who will someday nude wrestle Star Jones if only because she knows that it will finally drive me to pry my own eyes from my fucking skull.
That dark day is coming, De. I think we both know it.
Posted by: skippystalin at November 23, 2006 09:45 AMI have to respectfully disagree that she has societal strikes against her. She has more money in the bank than I'll ever have. I think part of her problem is her own hypocrisy. Telling regular citizens they shouldn't own guns while she has a armed bodyguard. The rest of it is her itching to jump on an issue or make up one if she can't find it.
Posted by: Jason at November 24, 2006 07:55 AMBy saying "societal strikes", I was trying to politely say that she, by society standards, is unattractive and overweight. I know from experience that when you are fat and ugly, people tend to shun you sometimes, therefore, you're bitter. Plus, she's got the personality of a barracuda AND she's a huge hypocrite!
And I couldn't agree more with your last sentence. She's itching for a fight!
