The "First" Rule

A friend of mine (who also happens to be an ex-boyfriend) was telling me he heard that once you took someone's virginity, you could always go back to that person for a little sex no matter how long you've been apart and no matter who you're dating at the time and it wouldn't be considered cheating.
How much do you want to bet that some MAN came up with that little jewel?

The idea of having sex with MY first now is disturbing. I'm definitely not the same person I was back then and my standards have changed tremendously. The idea of once again sleeping with the the one whose virginity *I* took is not appealing at all, either. We've become close friends, more like brother and sister than like boyfriend and girlfriend. Imagine sleeping with your sibling....*shudder*. It's not a good thought. bleh!

Most men I know are always looking for that device; that reason to make it "legal" to cheat. Sorry guys, but that doesn't exist. Instead of working so hard to find a loophole, how about not having sex with people other than your significant other?

Of course that's like asking a dog not to lick its own ass.

*update* I sound all angry in this post but I swear I'm totally not!

I can't imagine ever wanting to go back to that person now. Like you, I'm a completely different person. Plus, if I had wanted to keep having sex with him, I would have just married him like he wanted. D'oh!

I'm betting that not only was this rule-maker a man, but I bet he wasn't over the age of 25 and was probably younger.

Just today someone was talking about an episode of "Curb your Enthusiasm" where Larry David's wife had told him that he could have a free pass on their 10th anniversary. And "Friends" had the episode where Ross and Rachel made their free pass lists.

I have know idea why people are so big on trying to come up with a loophole. Too bad they're not spending that time and creativity on, say, curing cancer.

How about don't commit unless you really want to?

People really shouldn't commit just because they've been together so long that they finally ended up loving each other.

Wait for more. Commit when you are so helplessly, foolishly, heedlessly in love with someone that the thought of anyone else (including celebs and models...)doesn't appeal. Seriously, that happens, but very few wait for it.

(okay, I'll just be getting down from the 'ol podim now...) : )

key - that "helplessly, foolishly, heedlessly in love" feeling is the WORST reason to commit. that sort of thinking is why 1/2 of all marriages end in divorce. people think that love is that crazy/mad feeling - but it's not. that feeling - it's infatuation. and that feeling when no one else appeals - that doesn't happen. im married and other beings still appeal to me. it's all this teevee and movie myth about love is.

I totally agree, Luka..

Ah, no-one listens to people who make up "rules" like that. No-one anyone wants to fuck anyway. So they don't breed. So everyone else is better off.

"once you took someone's virginity, you could always go back to that person for a little sex"?

It's 3a.m., I'm totally sleepy, but this made me laugh for 5minutes!
I haven’t heard silliest thing in a long time.
